A Weekend in Ricketts Genn

The promise of warm spring days and outdoor activities helps get this gal through the long, gray days of winter.  A bunch of us headed to Eastern PA this weekend to do some camping and hiking.  Ricketts Glen and its 22 waterfalls stood up to the hype.

Talk about a room with a view!!

A little #nofilter coffee picture for ya!

One of the joys of car camping is you can bring coolers and cook some pretty legit meals.
On one grill we had pancakes and on the other we had scrambled eggs.

After everyone had been properly fed, we hit the trail.  The first half of the trail was fairly deserted making it easy to take in the sights and talk with the group.

The trail was amazingly kept which meant the maps could stay in our bags.  I mean seriously, look at those steps.

Photo op at the tallest waterfall (nearly 100ft tall)

All in all it ended up being about 9 miles of hiking and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

#FindYourPark

Today starts National Park week!!

Yosemite was the first national park signed into law in 1872 by President Grant and over the past century and a half 58 more have been added.  This week marks the 100 year anniversary of the National Park Service and to celebrate all parks have free admission.  Over the past few years I have ticked off 14, but one day hope to see them all.

Want to see some totally envious pictures that will make you want to hike up your shoes and grab some trail mix?
